Besides attacking our homes and businesses, Formosan subterranean termites destroy trees.
By attacking from below, the termites can eat the center of an otherwise healthy tree until it can no longer support itself and it falls over. Trees can also serve as a reservoir, housing hundreds of thousands of Formosan termites that can infest nearby structures. It is known that Formosan termites can forage for 100 hundred yards from the main nest in search of additional food. Proper inspection of trees can reduce the threat.
