Fifty youth from St. Martin Parish won awards for their animals and skills at the 2010 Acadiana District Livestock show held in Lafayette on January 27-30, 2010.

The St. Martin Parish 4-H Livestock Show was held on January 22-23, 2010. Fifty 4-H exhibitors showed a total of 115 animals in the different species of beef, dairy, goat, sheep and swine.

This report provides information on funding sources, program highlights for the area, and local issues that are being faced by the parish through the Extension Service.

The Outstanding 4-H Club Member Award is designed to reward 4-H members who have shown exeptional work within the 4-H program, especially at the parish, district and state level. Application must be completed and turned into 4-H Office by March 29, 2010.

The first annual Fall Fest Contest Day included a bicycle rodeo, dog show, pet show, cookery contest, talent show, poster contest and decorated pumpkin contest. Here are the results.
